Honoring a Servant Leader: Pastor Lusk, III Receives Service to Seniors Award

Congratulations to Pastor Herbert H. Lusk, III on being honored with the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s (PCA) Service to Seniors Award! This meaningful recognition celebrates his heartfelt commitment to the Seasoned Saints of Greater Exodus Baptist Church.

Through senior revivals, Thursday Seasoned Saints worship services, special luncheons, senior-focused activities, and countless moments of personal care and encouragement, Pastor Lusk consistently reminds our elders that they are seen, loved, and deeply valued.

This award recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact with older adults in the Philadelphia community. Pastor Lusk is one of only four distinguished recipients this year, alongside Dr. Eric M. Edi, Tiguida Kaba, and John Erickson. They will be honored at PCA’s Emergency Fund Luncheon on Thursday, June 5—an event that not only celebrates award recipients but also raises critical funds for emergency assistance for seniors, supporting needs such as utilities, food, oil, prescriptions, eyeglasses, and clothing.

Reflecting on this honor, Pastor Lusk shared: “It is an honor to serve the seniors of our church. Many of them helped raise me and my sisters when we were growing up at Greater Exodus. They have been my biggest supporters and encouragers, and they continue to stand by me in these early years of my ministry. I love and respect them deeply—their wisdom, their service, and their unwavering faith.”
